A Bit of Old West
Long before the hacienda, this was a working homestead — a vast expanse of oak trees and California junipers spread across rugged, mountainous land, alive with jackrabbits, quail and owls. The ruins of the original homesteader's cabin still stand, alongside a long-abandoned gold mine and the stone arrastres where mules once turned to break ore. We're keeping that Old-West spirit, and opening the mountain to campers again.
The Experience
This is simple, off-grid camping the way it's meant to be: you bring your tent, RV or camping truck, and we give you private access to a quiet mountain — wide flat sites with 20-mile views, and a secluded canyon site down a private dirt road for those who want to disappear entirely.
Today it's wonderfully bare-bones. As the hacienda grows, we're adding a few comforts of our own — so keep an eye on this page.
The Setting
High desert at 3,000 feet, about an hour north of Los Angeles — big sun by day, cool mountain air by night.
Views stretching 20 miles across mountains and canyons toward the peaks of the Angeles National Forest.
Just three miles from Vazquez Rocks and the Pacific Crest Trail — hiking and film-famous scenery at your door.
Oak and juniper country running with jackrabbits, quail and owls — and the ranch's own goats, horses and donkey nearby.
The town of Acton sits minutes away, with pick-your-own orchards and a quiet country welcome.
Good to Know
Large flat tent areas and room for RVs up to 45 feet, plus a private canyon site for tents.
Drinking water is available on site. Bring your own power, lighting and supplies.
No hookups, and limited facilities for now — come prepared, and pack out what you pack in.
We keep the land wild and the experience quiet — a few sites at a time, with respect for the mountain.
Ranch Experiences
Alongside the camping, we're opening a few simple, hands-on experiences for campers and day visitors alike — starting with these.
Come nose-to-nose with the hacienda's animals. Take a handful of feed from the stations and hand-feed the goats, donkey and friends — a favorite for the little ones, and a gentle way to meet the herd.
Gentle, guided rides on two easygoing horses — an unhurried way to take in the mountain and its trails, suited to first-timers and families.
